St Christopher hospital was founded on 1st July 2019 by a unique and awesome couple, Mr Emeka and Dr Mrs Jacinta Ezekwelu. The Hospital was named after Late Chief Christopher Ngozi Ezekwelu, father of Mr Emeka Ezekwelu, to immortalize his name and legacy. They hail from Ojoto in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State. The couple’s common passion for saving lives through the provision of medical care and services to their immediate and remote environment was one of the objectives of establishing this hospital.
Dr Mrs Jacinta Ezekwelu, the Medical Director of the hospital, is an experienced medical practitioner, Consultant Public Health Physician with Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). She had MBBS from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and MPH (Master of Public Health), from University of Lagos. She is a fellow of West African College of (FWACP) and Fellow Medical College of Physicians (FMCP).
On the other hand, her husband, Mr Emeka Ezekwelu is a Goelogist with many years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry. He had BSc in Geology and MSc in Geophysics from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, 1999 and 2004 respectively. He has worked in different Oil and Gas companies including Halliburton and Schlumberger, where he developed the concept of best practices and standard quality delivery of services which is presently adopted in the running of St Christopher Hospital.
In conclusion, the work experiences of this couple and their common passion for saving lives, no gainsaying led to the establishment of St Christopher Hospital, which has continued to grow from strength to strength with the adoption of the concept of best practices and standard quality delivery.
